hydrate, firm, replenish, strengthen

A lush, deeply replenishing seasonal hydration remedy, Winter Elixir is tailored for dry, dehydrated and devitalized winter skin. Like our other Hydrating Elixirs, this serum/mist is an essential hydration step within the Laurel Skin line.  The Winter Elixir: Tulsi Rose has a diverse phytonutrient profile lead by its whole plant humectants and botanical hyaluronic acid. Nourishing polysaccharides, B vitamins, resveratrol, and barrier-supportive nutrients in our herbalist-made extracts and single farm hydrosols enhance circulatory flow, restore and protect barrier function and rehydrate the deepest layers of the skin.

Artisan-distilled hydrosols of California-grown Heirloom Damask Roses and vibrant, flowering tops of medicinal Tulsi blooms are at the core of this seasonal deep tissue hydration Elixir. Herbalist-made, whole plant extracts of water-binding Marshmallow Root deeply replenish the fascia with its unique combination of essential minerals and mucilaginous compounds. The brightening saponins in Licorice Root soothe inflammation and fade hyperpigmentation while skin-firming and flavonoid rich Hawthorn and Cranberry deliver a potent reparative, a broad-spectrum dose of resveratrol and anti-inflammatory antioxidants. A microdose of a rare White Rose Essential Oil adds an elegant layer of depth and barrier support.

Ingredients

Rose – Delicate Rose petals are powerful humectants and contain barrier-supportive properties making them effective hydrators that prevent transepidermal water loss. Rich in replenishing compounds like flavonoids, anthocyanins, palmitic acid, gallic acid and vitamins B, C and E. Potent yet gentle, rose soothes and repairs the skin while strengthening skin firmness and increasing elasticity.

Tulsi – This stunningly aromatic herb promotes the movement of lymph flow and microcirculation beneath the skin. It swiftly dispels stagnation, inviting new life and fresh nutrients to the skin. It soothes muscles and nerves while delivering antioxidant-rich nourishment to cells. It brings vitality and strength where there was once dryness and dullness. The Holy Basil herbal flower is potent medicine and not suited to those with heightened reactive skin.

Marshmallow – Nature’s hyaluronic acid. This mucilaginous and polysaccharide-rich root is considered a water-binding superhydrator. With a unique mineral profile and containing galacturonic, glucuronic acids and ferulic acid, Marshmallow is supportive of both our lipid barrier and microbiome while deeply hydrating all layers of the skin. It offers a wealth of B vitamins, lecithin and phytosterols – all vital for long-term hydration. Soothing, softening and anti-inflammatory, this fluffy, mineral-rich root is loved by herbalists everywhere.

Astragalus – Closely studied for its ability to disrupt cellular aging by protecting our telomeres, Astragalus is a DNA-repairing, skin-rebuilding powerhouse. Astragalus is a well-known anti-inflammatory, effective at calming irritation and stimulating surface immunity.

Cranberry – Our Cranberries are delicately dried and cold pressed to create one of my favorite fruit and seed oils. Cranberry Seed Oil is high in resveratrol polyphenols, and essential fatty acids 3, 6, and 9. It is a cooling anti-inflammatory, rich in tannins and strengthening minerals.
