Honey Rose Spice Mask makes its return as a fleeting seasonal indulgence. Deeply hydrating, gently exfoliating, intensely brightening, and profoundly nourishing – this much-loved and highly anticipated winter favorite captures the season and provides us with a timely seasonal skin remedy that performs like a winter facial all on its own little pot of whole plant medicine.

Vibrant Heirloom Roses from the Point Reyes seashore, California, single-varietal Orange Blossom Honey from Central California and herbaceous Tulsi from a longstanding family herb farm perform alongside the warming spices of Vanilla, Nutmeg, and Clove, a nod to cozy fireside chats and chai lattes. A plant combination to bring new life and movement to the skin, while moisturizing and supporting the skin barrier. This is a small-batch creation that we release just once a year and we love that it has become such a well-loved winter favorite.

We recommend combining a honey tapping technique with this Mask.

Ingredients

Honey – This is a single farm, single varietal, raw Orange Blossom Honey from California that is noticeably fresh and vibrant. Honey impedes the overgrowth of harmful bacteria colonies, while still allowing beneficial flora to thrive. It has gentle enzymatic action that works to turn over cells in a non-forceful way, and its intense hydration visibly plumps and firms the skin.

Roses – Our rainbow colored Heirloom Rose Petals are grown exclusively for Laurel Skin on a small farm on the Point Reyes, California seashore with great love and care. Roses are powerful humectants that strengthen the skin’s barrier and connective tissue.

Nutmeg and Clove – Both Nutmeg and Clove bring not only a beautiful wintertime nostalgia to this luxurious mask, but they also stimulate circulation and bring new nutrients and vibrancy to the skin.

Tulsi – Our stunning Tulsi is from one of our favorite partnering farms to the East. This mask includes a Tulsi distillation, as well as hand-harvested and hand-powdered flowering tops. Tulsi is a potent anti-inflammatory for the skin, in addition to being a soothing aromatic plant for the nervous system.

Frankincense – Our certified organic Frankincense is distilled in the Northeast by a family who travels to Somalia each year for harvesting. This ingredient has been used historically for centuries to revitalize the skin by reducing the appearance of scars and fine lines.

Usage

Moisten face and hands. Warm 1 teaspoon or less of Honey Rose Spice Mask between fingertips, then glide and massage over damp, clean skin. Leave for 10-30 minutes, then rinse. If you have more time, try our full honey tapping ritual. If your Honey Rose Spice Mask has solidified or contains what looks like grains of sugar, that is just normal raw honey crystallization. Take a scoop of 1 teaspoon or less and warm it in your fingers until it softens, then gently tap onto skin. Add water to the skin and massage normally. You can also soften the honey by placing your jar, lid on tightly, into a shallow warm water bath. Be sure to keep the contents of the jar dry. Use within 6 months of opening and within the use by date noted on the bottom of the jar. Store in a cool, dry, dark place.

Laurel says

Honey Tapping for Results
What does Honey Tapping actually do? Honey Tapping works to stimulate lymphatic flow and circulation. Gently tap all the way down your neck and chest, as well as your face. This encourages lymphatic drainage for any build up or cellular waste that has accumulated beneath your skin. Your skin will have a clarity and vibrant glow to it afterwards! Honey Tapping is also a form of gentle exfoliation that works by sticking to and lifting up dead skin cells, which can then gently be rinsed away.

Scent and Emotion
The nostalgic holiday scents of this Mask inspire a slowing down and embracing of Winter. Winter is for rest; it is a valuable restoration period for our nervous system. The Laurel Skin Barn closes down all operations for almost 2 weeks in December/January so that our entire team can embrace the quiet of Winter more fully. Some of my favorite rituals during this down time include the Honey Rose Spice Mask. It gets dark so early, and we light candles throughout our home. I make myself some herbal tea, usually Chamomile, and apply the Honey Rose Spice Mask. I curl up with a book by candlelight, or enjoy a board game with my husband. I even make time for this mindful ritual when we are fireside camping!
